Sage, together with Basil and Thyme forms the magic trio of the Ancient Mediterranean. Sage was the most appreciated plant for the Romans to whom its actual name comes from. The Latin name of Sage “Salvia” means to heal, thus Romans thought this plant “saved, cured, prevented” from illnesses and spells.
When applied on skin, salvia officinalis is an astringent, sebum regulator in oily skins, soothing, anti-rheumatic, cicatrising and tonic agent.
